Zosima first started buying and selling firewood that she would peddle to bakeries across her town. Parents of 10 children, she and her husband, Remigio, knew that they needed to start a business that would be able to support their large family. Once Zosima became a client of Project Dungganon 2004, they decided on the hollow block business. With time, they became recognized by local government offices, businessmen, and contractors as a reputable player in the industry, able to supply them with quality materials. In 2008, they purchased a multi-cab to deliver hollow blocks in town and to nearby cities. The Ybañez’s run a 100% family-owned and operated business. The six eldest children work in the business full time while the other four are in school. Zosima dreams of buying the lot from her relative where her house is built, continue to make improvements to her home, and forging ahead to develop her business.
