JUNE 1, 2020 | For the past weeks in the Philippines, the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has meant staying indoors and complying with the rules of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). For millions of Filipinos, this has also meant weeks of zero income with rising expenses for basic necessities remaining the same. This global crisis is a lingering one and will likely continue until a vaccine is made available. Until then, people’s economic survival, living situation and way of life are endangered
