Angel sang Pandemya

Odessa Marie Badilla | Artist

Angels please us with their beauty, magnificence and serene presence. Here on Earth, Angels are all around us. They can be seen anywhere and can be found in anyone. This multimedia artwork, showcasing textile painting, represents the brave Women of the Healthcare Industry- our modern day angels for whom we owe so much. This artwork reminds us that women are capable of embracing femininity whilst demonstrating incredible strength and resilience. She holds a guiding star just as all healthcare workers have done in 2020 during the COVID 19 pandemic. Her wings, spread boldly, display the core traits we admire in our frontline workers. The Angel is also wearing a hand painted, festive skirt, adorned with flowers of myriads of colors to remind us that despite the current pandemic, we are still able to live our lives with positivity, knowing that we have our Pandemic Angels taking care of us.

Sherizze Sean Acot | Artist

The piece shows two women of different races looking at someone. They show admiration and awe to whoever is at the right side of the painting. The person looking at it is the head turner, making the two women feel curious to know about him or her. Admiring other people, especially another woman is quite powerful. You see the person as an inspiration to pursue something you have always wanted to have, always wanted to do. It is like acknowledging that you can achieve something great just like her.

Little Angel

Sherizze Sean Acot | Artist

Women should be empowered to raise special children. Empowering women will have a profound impact on the well being of children because when they are encouraged, they lead full and productive lives and this greatly affects the upbringing of these kids. Mothers, as well as siblings, of children with disabilities are like ambassadors for change as they create an added value to the lives around them. When women support each other, especially those who are raising children with special needs, they provide a community wherein inclusion is evident and voices are more likely to be heard.

Tres Marias

Sherizze Sean Acot | Artist

The tres marias is a representation of three sisters celebrating their femininity. Having sisters is like having friends for life as they’re going to back you up no matter how many times you bicker. They function as safety nets in this chaotic world by just being there for you. This actually reminds me of my sisters as well. There is strength in sisterhood because when women support each other, incredible things happen.
